Abdulrahman is the eighth of nine children, growing up in a nurturing family environment that emphasized diligence, integrity, and service to others. “My father, may God have mercy on him, was my role model,” he recalls. His father’s work ethic, honesty, and commitment to helping others left a lasting impression, shaping Abdulrahman’s values and leadership style.
At age fifteen, he moved to the United States to pursue his secondary education, living initially with his elder brother and later independently on a college campus. This early independence cultivated self-reliance, accountability, and adaptability, equipping him to navigate complex environments and diverse cultures while retaining his Saudi identity and values.
Academic Path and Early Career
Abdulrahman’s early interest in computer science and programming led him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in the field. While in the U.S., he gained practical experience through roles in program development and teaching. He served as a professor at Knowledge Systems Institute in Chicago and also worked as a developer, gaining invaluable exposure to both academic and corporate environments.
Upon returning to Saudi Arabia, Abdulrahman joined King Saud University as a faculty member while simultaneously consulting for various organizations. This dual exposure strengthened his perspective on leadership, innovation, and the importance of mentoring others.

Abdulrahman’s first formal leadership role was as Head of the Information Systems Department.
